Inked in Gray Press has acquired world English rights to the sequel and prequel to Child of the Dragon by Fantasy author Ashley Sheesley, entitled Heart of the Dragon and Blood of the Dragon respectively, continuing story of Kat in the now-named series Pact of the Ancients.
Child of the Dragon, Ashley Sheesley’s debut, was published on March 10, 2026, also by Inked in Gray press. The story introduces readers to Rhaegynne — shapeshifting dragons and dragon curses, where Kat must take up her grandmother’s quest to defeat the dragon kings in order to save dragon-kind from a life of torment.
In the sequel, Heart of the Dragon, Kat learns that the tyrannical dragon kings were only a part of the curse over the Rhaegynne. The dragon shifters are only a small piece of the greater magical world. Now Kat and her friends must embark across the world to seek blessings from ancient and powerful beings to finally break the curse that doesn’t just take their freedom but now threatens their lives.
The Prequel, Blood of the Dragon, takes place before the events of Child of the Dragon about a young dragon rider becoming the leader of the rebellion against the Council of Mages. For those that have read Child of the Dragon, this will further explore the inner political world of the Rhaegynne.
